Capstone Overview
Western High School is preparing students for the demands of college and career in the 21st century. Over the course of four years, students develop and refine the skills they will need to be successful in any educational and/or career pathway. The culmination of these skills essential for success in a changing world is a capstone project. The project asks students to reflect on the 5 C's:
In order to demonstrate the refinement of these skills, senior students have compiled a portfolio of artifacts from each school year, highlighting each skill with an exemplar. The artifacts in their portfolios represent a variety of activities, projects and participation in clubs and sports. The final component of the project is to participate in a Capstone Project interview. The interview allows students to reflect on their high school learning experience and present their journey to a panel of teachers, school staff, parents, and community members.
